The DGSA board met virtually to discuss the ongoing situation and how we will plan to move forward for the time being. While I would love to say that this is the final decision, it cannot be as it will remain subject to change for the foreseeable future.
Per the governor's declaration yesterday, the DGSA fields will remain closed until restrictions on group activities are lifted, currently planned for May 1st. As new information becomes available, we will re-evaluate as necessary and begin scheduling when appropriate for the health & safety of all players.
As of now, the plan is to delay the start of the spring season by 1 month. Practices would be scheduled to start the week of May 4th, with games scheduled to start May 26th. That does mean we will play through June, potentially early July if tournaments are able to be played. If you already know that this would pose a problem for your family and want to withdraw your player(s), please email me no later than April 15. After that date, withdrawals will not be refundable.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
